Welcome to the Ohio Champions League
The Ohio Champions League (OCL) is a youth soccer league with nearly 200 teams ranging in age from U-07 to U-14.  This season, we are pleased to welcome teams from the Central Ohio Select Soccer League (COSSL) into our program.  These teams are nearly all professionally-coached teams.  They will be a welcome addition to our league.

As our program has continued to evolve, professional training and/or coaching has become more prevalent each season.  While most of the teams in the program are parent-coached, nearly all have access to professional trainers either for individual player skill development or team technical or tactical training.  Most of our U-07 to U-09 teams are professionally-coached club-level teams.

The primary mission of the OCL is to provide an enjoyable soccer environment for a wide range of players desiring to play above the basic community-based recreational program.  The OCL provides its teams, coaches, parents and players with tremendous flexibility in terms of game scheduling dates/times, opponents (including younger/older aged-teams as desired by the coaches), number of games, etc.  The league allows for in-season roster flexibility as well.

In addition, the league sponsors season-ending tournaments at the end of each Fall and Spring season.

Beginning with the Spring 2012 season, the OCL is partnering with a brand new referee association -- the Mid Ohio Soccer Officials Association (MOSOA) -- in order to provide a development environment for our referee community as well.

Should you have further questions about the OCL, please feel free to send us an e-mail .

Thank you,
Natalie Baker Stellini and Ken McMahon

The OCL Spring 2013 Tournament Schedule is now available under DOCUMENTS under the OCL Spring 2013 Tournament Folder.  PLEASE BE AWARE:  It is possible that there will be a limited number of changes to the schedules before the tournament starts.

We hope to get the schedules online like we did last Fall assuming we get some time to get this accomplished.

OCL Spring 2013 Tournament Tentative Team Listing NEW INFO!!!
by posted 05/10/2013

Coaches and Managers,
It would have been VERY HELPFUL if I had actually provided the LOCATION of the information.  The spreadsheet of teams is located under DOCUMENTS in the OCL Spring 2013 Tournament Folder!!!  SORRY ABOUT THAT!!!

NO NEED TO CONFIRM YOU ARE IN THE TOURNAMENT, ONLY CONFIRM IF THE STATUS OF YOUR TEAM IS IN ERROR!!!!
Send an e-mail to ASAP if you find an error!!!

We are about to finalize the OCL Spring 2013 Tournament League Schedule.  Before we do so, we want to make certain that we have the correct listing of teams in the tournament.  All coaches and managers are asked to go out and confirm that your team is properly IN or OUT of the OCL Tournament.  In the cases of SEVEN team or NINE team divisions or other odd variations, teams may be moving up or down a division.  Further, some age groups may also see divisions split for the tournament (by level as opposed to by geography).

Please take a few minutes ASAP to verify that we have the right information.

Just when you think youth sports is a bad thing....
by posted 03/01/2013

Coaches, Admins, and Referees,
I came across this clip earlier in the week.  There are negative stories all the time about youth sports.  Here is a story that did not make the local or national news, but I found to be more than newsworthy....

Enjoy....

HOW TO CHANGE / ADD / DELETE GAMES
by posted 02/20/2012

GAME ADD:(Game must be added SEVEN days in advance to guarantee referees, THREE days in advance for a "best effort" to secure referees)

1. Identify dates and times with an opponent
2. Secure a field through the field scheduling coordinator in your community (OCL schedules DUSC and Worthington United home games)
3. Once a field is secure, HOME team sends e-mail to opposing team stating:
   A. GAME ADD in subject line
   B. HOME TEAM IS:
   C. AWAY TEAM IS:
   D. GAME ADD DATE and TIME
   E. FIELD LOCATION and NUMBER
4. Opponent (away team) then sends e-mail BACK to HOME team and COPIES on the e-mail CONFIRMING all of the above is correct.
5. HOME TEAM then must confirm with home community field coordinator and COPY that that field is indeed being used on the specific day and time.
6. OCL will then add the game into the system within 48 hours.

GAME DROP:
1. Once you and your opponent agree to drop a game (unless weather related, this must be done AT LEAST THREE days in advance) send an e-mail to your opponent:
   A. GAME DROP in the subject line
   B. HOME TEAM IS:
   C. AWAY TEAM IS:
   D. CURRENT GAME TIME AND DAY:
   E. CURRENT GAME FIELD IS:
2. Opponent then sends e-mail BACK to team originating request and COPIES CONFIRMING all the above is correct.
3.Home team must then contact home community field coordinator (and copy ) that field no longer needed
4. OCL will then drop the game and notify the referees within 48 hours

GAME MODIFY: (ONLY use when the OPPONENT is the same--if the opponent is changing, please use a sep arate GAME ADD and GAME DROP form for each step)--NEW date must be SEVEN days in the future to guarantee referee and at least THREE days in advance in order to get a "best effort" to secure referees.
1. Agree with your opponent what the change is and have a field secured
2. Send an e-mail to opponent:
  A. GAME MODIFY in subject line
  B. HOME TEAM IS:
  C. AWAY TEAM IS:GAME DROP:

  D. NEW GAME DATE, NEW GAME TIME
  E. NEW HOME LOCATION, AND FIELD NUMBER
  F. CURRENT GAME DATE AND TIME
  G. CURRENT GAME LOCATION AND FIELD NUMBER
3. Opponent sends e-mail BACK to team originating request, COPYING CONFIRMING all of the above information is correct.
4. Home team then contacts home community field coordinator, COPYING that the game has been changed with new date and time and original date and time is no longer needed.
5. OCL will then change the game information within 48 hours.
